New Delhi: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has so far got just 4,43,000 followers since he joined the Twitter on May 5. His Twitter entry had created a huge sensation and even Twitter India ran a banner inviting the people to follow him. Within 24 hours, he got almost 2 lakh followers.
A lot of people even predicted that he would cross 10 lakh followers in a week and may even cross Narendra Modi's following on Twitter.
But Rajinikanth seems to have lost his twitter steam. On an average, he added 30,000 followers a day or 1250 followers every hour.
Rajinikanth's first tweet was greeted with the same seriousness that an appointment to the Vatican would have received all over the World. Many websites and newspapers ran headlines 'Twitter joins Rajini'. Some of his hardcore fans tweeted that he would break all existing records and would get highest number of followers in a record time.
The slow pace has disappointed his admirers.
