Los Angeles: Hollywood star Harrison Ford has signed up for 'Anchorman: The Legend Continues'. The 70-year-old actor will portray a legendary newscaster in the follow up to 2004 comedy movie 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy', which will also see him join fellow franchise newcomer Kristen Wiig, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Harrison's alter-ego is said to be similar to NBC's 'Nightly News' anchor Tom Brokaw.

It will not be the first time he has portrayed an anchorman after taking on such a role in 2010 comedy 'Morning Glory', which also starred Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams and was produced by JJ Abrams and Bryan Burk.

Harrison looks set to have a busy few years, which will see him work with Abrams again after it was recently reported that he is to reprise his role as Han Solo in the forthcoming 'Star Wars' sequel.

The actor played the character in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy between 1977 and 1983 along with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
