BHUBANESWAR: In a tragic incident, a vegetable trader and his driver were killed when the mini truck, they were travelling in, rammed the rear of a cargo-laden truck during the small hours of Monday. Both died on the spot. So badly damaged was the vehicle that fire fighters had to cut open the mini truck to retrieve the bodies. The mishap took place near Aiginia under Khandagiri police limits at about 2.30 am. Police said, the brinjal-laden mini truck was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Sorada in Ganjam district. Investigation suggested that the mini-truck hit the rear of the truck killing 25-year old trader Pravakar Panda and his driver Mantu Bisoi. The driver is believed to have dozed off leading to the accident. While the cargo truck driver fled, police rushed to the spot and informed the Fire Station. Both Panda and Bisoi belonged to Ganjam district. A case has been lodged.
