THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rural and Dairy Development Minister K C Joseph said that it was only judicious that dairy farmers got a fair deal and a hike in the price of milk was inevitable.Reacting to the High Court directive on raising the price of milk, Joseph said that the government did not intend to go on appeal against the verdict.However, he refused to comment on the level of increase in the price of milk. The Minister told Express that the government was yet to finalise its opinion on the extent of milk price hike and the details of the High Court order was awaited.Milma chairman P T Gopala Kurup said that the milk price will be hiked by Rs 5, probably before September 5.He said that out of the proposed hike is to support the farmers as Rs 4.20 per litre will go to them and the rest of it to primary co-operatives, regional unions and milk vendors.
