HYDERABAD: Police arrested a person on Thursday who was in possession of Rs. 40 lakh stolen by the worker of a gold trading business.The employee of the businessman had stolen Rs. 54 lakh and given Rs. 40 lakh to the arrested person for safe custody.The main accused, Bal Kishan Maali of Shamsheergunj is an employer at the Nava Durga Bullion Corporation run by Ravinder Agarwal of Ghansi Bazar Jhoola. On October 5, Ravinder Agarwal gathered Rs. 1.29 crore to deposit in a bank in two separate bags.While Ravinder went to the SBI head office at Koti with one bag containing Rs. 75 lakh, Kishan was following him with another bag containing Rs. 54 lakh along with his employer’s son, Deepak Agarwal from Char Kaman. “Kishan put the bag in the scooter dickey while Deepak Agarwal was riding pillion.As they reached the Sultan Bazar traffic police, Kishan intentionally dropped his chappal on the road and asked Deepak to get it. As Deepak went to get the chappal, Kishan fled on the scooter with the cash,’’ Sultan Bazar assistant commissioner of police G Someswara Rao said. Kishan later gave Rs. 40 lakh to his friend, Naresh Sankla of Gode Khabar and told him about the theft. Knowing very well the amount was stolen, Naresh kept the money in his house.On information, police arrested Naresh on Thursday and recovered Rs. 40 lakh from him.
