Puducherry Agricultural Association, a unit of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), urged the government to ensure that Puducherry (Karaikal region) gets its due share of Cauvery water from Tamil Nadu. The association also asked the government to join hands with its Tamil Nadu counterpart in ensuring the release of water by the Karnataka government.
The association also urged the government to the protect farm land by bringing in a Land (Control) Order to regulate the conversion of farm land for non-agricultural purposes.
