Fudged data by Corporation staff found

CHENNAI: Close on the heels of suspension of four staff from its Perungudi dump yard, the City Corporation authorities on Tuesday suspended four staff, including an assistant executive engineer, for creating false records of garbage dumping by lorries at the Kodungaiyur dumping ground.According to a Corporation release, the suspension was a follow up to an enquiry for over three days, after specific complaints were received on involvement of civic body staff in falsification of truck deliveries off-loading garbage.Following the preliminary confirmation about the involvement of its staff in the act, Corporation top brass on Tuesday ordered suspension of three documentation staff and one supervisory staff at the Kodungaiyur Dumping ground.A new team has been put in place to take care of the dumping yard until the probe is completed, the release said. Tipper Lorries Kill TwoTwo persons were killed when they were knocked down by tipper lorries, in separate incidents on Monday night.Iyyasamy (35), a lorry driver from Old Pallavaram was returning home on his bike, when a tipper lorry hit him. He died on the spot. In another incident, Krishnan (58), from Pallavaram, died when a tipper lorry hit his bike at Tiruneermalai.
