Five persons arrested in country-bomb explosion

PUDUCHERRY: The police, on Monday, arrested five persons in connection with the explosion of a country bomb at a building in Naveena garden, Pillaithottam, on September 15. One person, Sivakumaran, was injured in the explosion. The accused have been identified as Sekar Rajasekar, Prabhu Narayanan, Kadiravan, Anthoni and Mahibalan. According to SSP (Law and Order) V J Chandran, the country bomb, which was brought by Kadiravan when he joined the others for a liquor party. The bomb exploded when Sivakumaran accidentally stepped on it injuring his left leg. Sivakumaran was yet to be taken into custody as he was still recuperating. Knives and three motorcycles were also seized. Further investigations are on.
