Fight for Netravathi River diversion project

TUMKUR: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike must start a campaign for the implementation of Netravathi River Diversion Project (NRDP), said Sri Nanjavadhuta swami of Pattanayakanahalli mutt in Sira taluk. Inaugurating a cultural event at Government Junior College grounds here recently, the vokkaliga community seer said the KRV should understand the agony of the people in the arid zones including, Kolar district, who are suffering from the fluorosis.The advise received a big applause from the thousands of audience as Tumkur is one of the beneficiaries of the (NRDP) project. Actress Tara rained praises on KRV calling it ‘the best pro-Kannada outfit.’ She said KRV has effectively taken up the issues of the film industry.Another actress Pooja Gandhi said, “As I have joined politics with the help of JD(S), I have become a daughter of this land and I will learn good Kannada and safeguard the interests of the Kannadigas.” Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Nalluru Prasad was felicitated.
