Explore the possibility of providing jobs to relatives of 2002 riot victims: SC to Centre
The Gujarat government has been saying that it has no scheme to give government jobs to the relatives of the riot victims.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Centre to explore the possibility of providing jobs to the relatives of the 2002 Gujarat riots victims. The apex court has given the Centre four weeks to respond on the matter.

The Supreme Court's response was based on a public interest litigation which sought government jobs for the relatives of the riot victims.

The Narendra Modi-led Gujarat government has already put forth its stand on the matter saying it cannot give government jobs to the relatives of the 2002 Gujarat riot victims as it does not have a scheme at the moment.
