KOCHI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) launched its new hatchback car Eon in Kochi on Tuesday. The car was launched by HMIL vice-president (production) Sarangarajan along with zonal manager Y S Lee.Prior to the launch of the car, Sarangarajan said Eon was designed keeping the requirements of Indian customers in mind. “The Eon will further expand our share in the fast-growing small segment in the Indian market,” he said.Sarangarajan added that the car’s distinctive design gives it a youthful profile.Eon’s 814 cc petrol engine is mated with five-speed manual transmission and it offers 21.1-kilometre mileage. The other features of the car include metal finish inside door handles, micro-roof antenna, integrated 2DIN MP3 audio, Aux, USB and i-pod connectivity, tilt function on electric power steering, five cup/bottle holders, rear seatbelt knuckle holder, driver airbag, keyless entry, gear shift indicator and alternator management system (AMS). It will be available in a range of six new exciting colours.
