PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Education Minister P M L Kalyanasundaram was hiding inside the Assembly building here when Tamil Nadu police came to serve summons in connection with an impersonation case, the CPI alleged on Friday.The minister was hiding in the House along with his close associates when the TN Crime Branch team arrived, party Puducherry unit secretary Na Ra Kalainathan told reporters here. He said TN police had to enter the House twice in connection with the case. Summons was handed over to the Speaker on first occasion and the Assembly Secretary on the second, but were returned stating that the minister could not be traced.The CPI leader said the dignity and decorum of the Assembly was lowered as it was being “treated like a private guest house” by the minister to escape arrest.Kalainathan reiterated that the education minister, who had lowered the prestige of Puducherry, should resign and come to trial for his impersonation case.He said that Chief Minister N Rangasamy’s silence in the issue was painful and that he should use his power to sack the education minister, who was now apparently making efforts to get bail from the Supreme Court.
