EDI to team up with IIT Madras

CHENNAI: The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) is in the process of tying up with IIT-Madras for a training module that would be taken to different colleges in the State to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship among those on the verge of completing their studies, Principal Secretary of MSME Department T S Sridhar told Express here on Friday.Speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by the Rwanda High Commission, he said the module would ideally be for a week’s duration. It would encourage students to start their own enterprises rather than be job seekers, he added.  The module is likely to be rolled out from the next financial year. He said, the EDI has been sanctioned `4 crore by State government for  a new building and for identifying an ideal location within the land available at its disposal.
