MANGALORE: Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda intends to warm up to the Opposition leaders over regular cups of tea.Revealing his intention to stay tuned to reality, Sadananda Gowda said he was keen on arranging cordial discussions with Opposition leaders like Siddaramaiah, Revanna and even leaders from the Legislative council like Motamma, MC Nanaiah over a cup of tea in the Vidhana Soudha.Discussions not to exceed beyond two hours, are being planned for coming Tuesday or Wednesday. “There are many platforms to trade charges, but these tea sessions will pave way for constructive criticism,” Sadananda Gowda said at the meet-the-press programme in Patrika Bhavan in Mangalore on Sunday.‘Model Mangalore’Sadananda Gowda, who has set a trend by fixing days for attending to public grievances, expressed a desire to collect feedback from the media through interactions planned on a weekly basis. He left instructions to ensure that the CM’s district is a model district on all fronts.Promising a model governance, he said he would try to ensure that files even in taluk offices are disposed off within a fortnight and all correspondences to him will be settled faster.He informed that the National Horticultural Mission had submitted a proposal to the Centre on alternative crops for horticultural farmers in the state who were hit by the yellow leaf disease, which had ravaged arecanut plantations. He promised to follow-up on the report submitted to the Centre.To the issue of Malekudiyas being denied title deeds and the rehabilitation package being unscientific, he promised to find a solution. He also favoured special powers for the Lokayukta.
