BANGALORE: At the inauguration of Dr Mahesh’s Diabetes Speciality Hospital on Sunday, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda stressed the need for prevention of diabetes at an early stage.“Most of the diabetic patients inherit the disease genetically. Regular screening reduces the risk factor and also the economic burden for the patients. Besides, change in the lifestyle with proper diet and regular exercise are required to keep oneself away from diabetes,” the chief minister said.Gowda advised the hospital to create awareness about the disease and follow up during the treatment. The 15 bedded hospital is equipped with a state of the art laboratory and a dietician who would educate patients about the disease.Dr K V S Mahesh, Managing Director of the Hospital said, “we are also aiming at reducing the medical cost of patients by providing them the best of medication so that they do not have to get admitted to the hospital.”
