VIJAYAWADA:: Principal secretary (endowments) KV Ramanachari has told officials of Sri Kanaka Durga temple atop the Indrakeeladri here to restore the quality of laddu prasadam as per the specifications (Dittam) by September 23 or else face action. Ramanachari, who was here on Sunday to review the arrangements being made for the Devi Navaratri (Dasara) celebrations, served the warning when a woman devotee complained of poor quality of laddu. He assured her that temple assistant executive officer Saikuamr had been asked to take measures to ensure the quality of the prasadam.
Participating in the meeting which was held at the collector's camp office, he said additional commissioner T Chandrakumar was appointed special officer to supervise the festival celebrations for which `2.25 crore was sanctioned.Referring to charges in regard to allotment of tenders, he said the tenders would be cancelled and fresh tenders called in case of flaws in procedure. The number of prasadam sale counters would be increased to eight in view of the expected rush, he said.
