The Delhi Police has placed several traffic restrictions in the city on Monday due to Beating Retreat Ceremony, that marks the conclusion of Republic Day celebrations.
Taking to their official X handle, the Delhi Traffic Police said that the restrictions will be in place from 2 pm to 9:30 pm, during which Vijay Chowk will remain closed for general traffic.

In order to ensure smooth functioning of road traffic, the restrictions will also be placed on Rafi Marg between Surehet Masjid and Krishi Bhawan; Rasina Road from Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk; Beyond Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg, and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk; Kartavyapath between Vijay Chowk and “C” Hexagon.
The advisory further requested general public and motorists to take alternative routes including Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madarsa T-Point, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Minto Road and others to reach their destinations.
Buses travelling towards Connaught Place will travel through Mandir Marg, Kali Ban Marg, GPO, Baba Kharak Singh Marg route, as per the advisory. Buses from Connaught Place to India Gate will go through Minto Road, DDU Marg, IP Flyover, Ring Road, and Sarai Kale Khan.
Meanwhile, the buses from Mandi House and Feroz Shah Road will end at Shiva Stadium and return through Kasturba Gandhi Marg or Barakhamba Road.
Parking facilities have been made available after 7 pm for those coming to see illumination behind the water channels between Rafi Marg and C-Hexagon.
All Indian Tunes to be Played at R-Day Concluding Ceremony
The Beating Retreat ceremony that will witness all Indian tunes, beginning with the ‘shankhnaad’ tune similar to blowing a conch.
The music bands of Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will play 31 captivating and foot-tapping Indian tunes.
The ceremony will begin with the massed band’s ‘Shankhnaad’ tune, which will be followed by enthralling tunes such as ‘Veer Bharat’, ‘Sangam Dur’, ‘Deshon ka Sartaj Bharat’, ‘Bhagirathi’, and ‘Arjuna’ by Pipes and Drums band. The CAPF bands will play ‘Bharat Ke Jawan’ and ‘Vijay Bharat’ among other rousing numbers.
‘Tiger Hill’, ‘Rejoice in Raisina’ and ‘Swadeshi’ are among the tunes to be played the band of the Indian Air Force, while the audience will witness the Indian Navy band playing a number of tunes, including ‘INS Vikrant’, ‘Mission Chandrayaan’, ‘Jai Bharati’ and ‘Hum Tayyar Hain’. This will be followed by the Indian Army band which will play ‘Faulad Ka Jigar’, ‘Agniveer’, ‘Kargil 1999’, ‘Taqat Watan’ among others.
The musical ritual will be watched by President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narenda Modi, his Cabinet colleagues and others as the sun sets over Raisina Hills.
