New Delhi: Public transport in the Capital is now going to cost you more. The Delhi government has revised taxis, auto and bus fares.
The Cabinet notification has been forwarded to the Lt Governor of Delhi for approval.
At a meeting of the state cabinet, the minimum fare for buses was increased from Rs two to Rs three, but the maximum fare of Rs 10 remained unchanged.
In the case of autorickshaws, the minimum fare has been increased from Rs 8 to Rs 10, while the fare thereon has been brought up from Rs 3.5 per km to Rs 4.50 per km.
The minimum fare for taxis has been increased from Rs 13 to Rs 15 and from Rs 7 to Rs 8.50 per km.
"We have rationalised the fare structure. No additional burden has been put on commuters," Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
This is what the revised fares will look like:
FARE HIKE
- Bus fares have gone up from Rs 2 to Rs 3
- Starting fares for autos have increased from Rs 8 to Rs 10
- Starting fares for taxis will now be Rs 13 in place of Rs 15
