New Delhi: In what would come as music to the ears of the Commonwealth Organising Committee, the Kenyan delegation is having a ball at the much-criticised Athletes' Village and are happy with the facilities here especially the dining hall.

A group of para-athletes from Kenya, who had moved into the 63.7 hectare campus on Sunday, took a stroll around the well guarded premises on Monday to check out the facilities and came out quite impressed.

"We had read a lot about the facilities here and hence had our doubts. But now that we are here, things are totally different from what we had thought they would be," Ronald Melkizedek, a Kenyan official said.

A para-athlete accompanying him said, "the best place is the dining area. The food is really good."

The gigantic dining area can serve thousands in a day and offers all the world cuisines. From 10 different kind of breads to cakes to lamb chops besides Indian delicacies, the dining area is literally a heaven for the foodies.

Asked if they had checked out the training area yet, Melkizedek said, "No I have not. We are going there only but I am told by others it is good."

The Kenyan team was also impressed with the local staff and said "there are nice people here. Very helpful."

Asked how he would sum up his experience at the village, Melkizedek said, "So far so good."

New Zealand's support staff's also moved into the village late last night to do the groundwork for the athletes' arrival later this week.
