Expressing serious concern over the increasing murders particularly of elders and home alone women in silicon city, Congress has urged Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar to initiate steps to curb such incidents. Congress MLAs led by KPCC President G Parameshwar met Shettar at his official residence Krishna and demanded a stern action against police who have failed to act against miscreants.
“Fifteen murders have taken place in just 10 days. Murders, street fights among rowdies, kidnaps and chain snatching incidents have become the order of the day. These incidents have not only brought a bad name to Bangalore, but to the entire state,” Parameshwar said. He urged the Shettar to act against police officials who have failed to maintain law and order and transfer inefficient officials. Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok claimed that there was no law and order problem in the state.
He enlisted the measures taken by the police to improve law and order. “CCTV cameras are being installed at vulnerable areas and important cities,” he said.
