BANGALORE: People complain about indiscriminate garbage dumping and inadequate garbage disposal system. Daily Dump is an organisation that hopes to change this scenario,  inculcate the habit of segregation of garbage and create compost from waste at home. They have a wide variety of products like Khamba ranging from one to four tiers and others like Janta Khamba and nano Khamba.“People are now concerned towards the environment. Individuals and groups are coming forward to segregate the trash as the perspective towards the nature is changing,” said an employee of Daily Dump.It also organises Trash Trail, a one-day paid tour, where volunteers are taken around the city to help them comprehend the different aspects of waste management and the economy involved in it. “Once the garbage reaches the landfill, there is very little possibility of segregating the waste,” she said.Other projects include organising awareness on millet as a substitute for rice and wheat to reduce consumption of water and to decrease carbon footprints. To support their cause, even the Palike has recognised their efforts. And now people have shortlisted the organisation as a nominee for Namma Bangalore Awards for their contribution to the city.
