CPI stages dharna at Hyderabad Collectorate

HYDERABAD: CPI Rajya Sabha member Aziz Pasha has demanded that Congress-led UPA government deliver Telangana without any further delay.He alleged that the central government “did not have brains” and state government was “suffering from paralysis” because of which both were unable to resolve the T issue.In response to the call given by CPI state committee, Hyderabad CPI district committee organised a protest programme at the Collectorate on Monday.The CPI district committees in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions did mention the Telangana issue in their protest programmes. A large number of CPI leaders and activists staged a dharna at the Collectorate. The activists tried to disrupt the work there but police foiled their attempts and arrested many of them. They were later released on bail.Earlier, addressing a dharna, Pasha said that UPA government was not respecting the T sentiment. He observed that if the Centre delayed the formation of Telangana further, it would pose a danger to democracy. Similar dharanas were organised by CPI activists at Ranga Reddy district Collectorate under the leadership of MLC PG Chandrasekhar.
