KOCHI: It's Christmas time and everyone is on a shopping spree to welcome Santa Claus. While  you are  aiming to look your best, what about your poor home décor that is begging for some change? The Christmas exhibition cum sale at the Village shop at Ravipuram has quite a few items that can add a touch of colour to your homes through its range of organic cotton.The highlight is the traditional weaving style that Kannur weavers have brought with them. The bedspreads, quilt, table mats, floor mats, cushion covers, towels all have contemporary designs in cotton and are of export quality. One unique aspect worth mentioning are the shopping bags. The specialty of these are that they are made from recycled pet bottles and cotton. These bags are an innovative and ecofriendly approach that can reduce the plastic waste around the place. Eco lovers can get this bag for just Rs 120.Another highlight are the range of contemporary designer country towels (thorth) which comes in  embroidery designs of Christmas tree, strawberry and batik prints. It could offer a visual treat inside your bathrooms and are quite different from the regular white cotton towels that are used normally.   Another special item not to be missed are the shoe racks made from cloth. For city dwellers whose apartment space is precious, these racks are compact and could be hung from walls.  There is also a rather nice collection of custom-made soft home dress wear. The range of other cotton towels and school snack towels (5 pieces set) are all priced between Rs.100-125. Terri towels, waffle towels and spongy organic cotton towels are attractive additions. The show meets all cotton needs for your kitchen, be it aprons, kitchen towels, micro mitts, dish clothes and even a beautiful cover for water dispenser. Also an array of salwar Kameez material, churidars, kaftans, nightwear, shirts are available.  All the materials are produced and designed in the mills of Village shop. The exhibition is on till December 15.
