BANGALORE: Sohanlal Khatri, a 28-year-old man who was accused of stealing diamond and gold ornaments worth Rs 1 crore from Aabhushan Jewellers was arrested by the Jayanagar police in his native, Rajasthan on Tuesday.Khatri, an employee at the jewellery showroom, had stolen the ornaments during the working hours of the showroom on last Friday.On the same night, he had taken a bus to Mumbai but en route, had abandoned the valuables in the bus after the bus stopped at a police check-post. Khatri got off the bus fearing arrest and later, the bag with the stolen jewellery was traced to Hospet of Bellary district and the police recovered it on Sunday.The police said that after getting down from the bus, Khatri headed to his native place in Rajasthan.The special teams, which were searching for him in Maharashtra and Rajasthan, learnt that he was in Rajasthan and arrested him.
