The cop is accused of misappropriating stolen items belonging to a relative of the late actor.
Mumbai: A trainee Sub-Inspector was dismissed from service on Saturday for being involved in the misappropriation of stolen items belonging to a relative of the late actor Amjad Khan, who played the iconic role of Gabbar Singh in Sholay.
The officer to be dismissed was Sanjiv Kumar Suman. The action was taken after an official inquiry confirmed the allegation against the trainee, Director General of Police Neelmani told reporters.
Earlier, an Assistant Sub-Inspector was suspended on July 9 concerning the same case. He was charged with irregularities in connection with recovery of jewellery worth Rs one crore stolen from the residence of Murtaza, a close relative of Amjad Khan.
