Contractual nurses on warpath

Berhampur: Contractual nurses began their week-long agitation on Wednesday protesting non-fulfilment of their five demands. The nurses would sport black badges on duty. Contractual Nurses Association, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, president Sujata Mohapatra told newsmen that in all these years they have had to make do with only assurances from the authorities concerned despite repeated pleas for regularisation of services.  The other demands include an increase in the salary from ` 5,200 to ` 9,300, said association secretary Sarita Nayak.  If no steps are taken by March 6, they would be forced to resort to ceasework, said Mohapatra.
