BHUBANESWAR: The OPCC has initiated steps to revive the party in Cuttack parliamentary constituency by proposing to launch agitation at the block level. A meeting of all the block presidents, OPCC members, former chairpersons of Zilla Parishad and senior Congress leaders of the Cuttack parliamentary constituency was held here on Friday on the occasion of Nuakhai to discuss the revival of the party. The meeting was presided over by senior Congress leader Jayanti Patnaik. OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik called upon the party workers to create public opinion against the Naveen Patnaik government by launching agitations from the panchayat level. Announcing that demonstration will be held at all the block headquarters in the coming days, Patnaik asked district leaders to participate in these programmes. It was decided that a committee to be headed by former MP Jayanti Patnaik will be constituted at Lok Sabha constituency level. The committee will prepare strategy for the party’s revival in the constituency. Similar committees will be constituted at the Assembly constituency level also. It was decided that steps will be taken for the victory of party candidates in panchayat elections.
