Senior Congress leader and former minister B K Chandrashekhar (BKC) on Wednesday criticised the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) for “its failure to ensure hygienic transportation and scientific disposal of garbage by the civic authorities.”
At a press conference, Chandrashekhar came down heavily on KSPCB and demanded its closure against the backdrop of the garbage crisis. He said the KSPCB has failed in discharging its duties as the contractors had violated all the norms in collection and disposal of garbage in a scientific manner.
The Congress leader said its officials should be held responsible for their ‘grave lapses’. He also criticised Bangalore Urban District In-charge and Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok for his ‘failure’ in solving this problem.
“It seems there is no co-ordination between the city legislators and the district in-charge minister in solving the problem,” he alleged.
