Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh on Friday demanded a CBI probe into the state's Pre-Medical Test (PMT) scam in Bhopal, alleging that it is connected to the top echelons of power.
The Indore police had busted the gang of impersonators involved in the PMT scam and arrested its alleged kingpin Jagdish Sagar recently. Police also arrested two officials of the Professional Examination Board (PEB) responsible for conducting exams for professional and other courses in Madhya Pradesh after Sagar's arrest.
In a statement, the Leader of Opposition demanded a CBI probe into the scam, alleging that it is not only linked to the top echelons of power in Madhya Pradesh, but had also played with the future of a large number of deserving candidates of the state.
Ajay specifically asked the Madhya Pradesh government to clarify who is the relative of PEB's Controller of the Examination Pankaj Trivedi in the government. He wanted to know the name of the BJP office bearer at whose printing press, the question papers were allegedly printed and whether he is none other than the confidante of those heading the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.
He demanded to know with which political party the main PMT scam accused Sagar is associated and who were the leaders who had dined with him during their Indore visit. Ajay alleged that there are a number of issues which may expose the scam's links to the ruling BJP.
