GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the slow pace of culvert works on the busy Begumpet Road near Kochar Apartments where nala widening works have left a lot to be desired.
Taking the engineers to task, he said where three vents were to be provided, only two had been started and directed them to complete the works on a warfooting.
Recognising the difficulties being faced by motorists on this route, he said it was decided to go in for fresh safety measures including putting up colorful and collapsible bollards along with glowing studs, particularly on the Greenlands flyover near the Hyderabad Public School.
The works would be taken up next week. He suggested that a caution board may also be displayed near the HPS.
The commissioner also inspected bridge works which are being taken up at Lakdika- pul, drain and other works related to widening of nalas and CC roads at Filmnagar, Shaikpet and Tolichowki. He directed the officials to expedite the works.
The commissioner also visited the Indira Gandhi Puram, where nearly 120 houses are affected due to a new 60-ft link road. He directed the additional commissioner (planning) to hold a meeting with elected representatives to sort out the issue.
