THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day after Chief Minister Oommen Chandy threw open the doors of his office to the world through the 24x7 live streaming of his office through his website, he received an overwhelming response from the civil society over 70,000 hits on his website www.keralacm.gov.in.
Elated by the overwhelming response to the zest for transparency from the public, the idea is beginning to catch the imagination of his Cabinet colleagues, with many of them expressing keenness to follow suit. Senior ministers like K M Mani and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan are now bracing to set a similar standard in their functioning."Drawing a cue from the CM, my office is in the process of devising a similar programme to ensure transparency even though it may not be the exact copy of what he has done. It will have a final shape after the budget is announced,'' Finance Minister K M Mani said. He is sure other ministers too will go for this transparencyinoffice drive.

''The idea is now going to become a policy of the UDF Government. You would see not just the Revenue Minister's office being telecast live but even at the villageoffice level,'' Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said, adding that he is looking to get the finances and manpower sanctioned to implement the programme.
