Chief Secretary and Chief Devaswom Commissioner K Jayakumar on Sunday reviewed the development projects being implemented at Nilackal, Pampa and Sabarimala as part of providing improved facilities for the pilgrims during the next Mandalam-Makaravilakku season.
K Jayakumar, accompanied by Devaswom Commissioner N Vasu and Devaswom Chief Engineer (general) Ravikumar, visited the locations of renovation projects in the parking areas for the pilgrim vehicles belonging to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The work on renovation-cum-expansion schemes of the interior roads at Nilackal were assessed by the scrutiny of the team.
During his visit to Nilackal, Jayakumar resolved the demand raised by the rubber plantation workers by clearing the payment of the wages and arrears before the coming Onam festival.
On Swami Ayyappan Road renovation work, Jayakumar directed to undertake the renovation work on the dangerous and hazardous stretches before October 31.
He also made an on-the-spot assessment of the queue complexes being built under the supervision of the High-Powered Committee at Marakkoottam and the other near Saramkuthi by the TDB.At Sannidhanam, Jayakumar asked the maramath authorities to complete the work on the resting place at Pandithavalam and also soak pits at Sannidhanam to prevent the overflow of sewage from the safety tanks of the toilets.
