Chickpet shuts down

BANGALORE: All shops and business establishments in the otherwise busy Chickpet area downed their shutters in support of the bandh that was called to protest against anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare’s arrest. Chickpet corporator A L Shivakumar, who led a protest march involving the merchants of the area, said, “We took a decision to call the bandh after consulting the Merchants’ Association members. All the merchants have come along with the workers in their establishments to voice their opinion against Anna Hazare’s arrest and have resolved to do whatever it is to support this national movement.”
