KOTTAYAM: The United Democratic Front (UDF) is united and will complete the allotted period of five years in office, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said here on Friday. He was speaking at the ‘Desiya Vishadhigarana Sammellanam’ organised by the district unit of the party here.The government may be delicately balanced, but there was a beauty to its minority, Chennithala said. He said that the public had faith in the UDF and so it came to power. The government will fulfil the responsibilities entrusted on it, he said. The Opposition was settling scores by slinging mud on individuals, he said adding that politicians should fight on the issue of ideology.The trend of attacking individuals in politics was gaining ground in the state and was a matter of concern, he said.Chennithala said that the government had completed the work on selecting the nominees for state boards and Corporations. The final list will be published on Tuesday, he said.Meanwhile, tense situation prevailed in the area where LDF supporters defaced a billboard of the Chief Minister. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Friday said that if at all there was any scam in the Titanium issue, he LDF was responsible to it. Addressing the Rastriya Vishadikarana Yogam organized by the Congress district unit, he asked why did the LDF government not raise the issue during their rule.The then Industry Minister Elamaram Kareem had inaugurated the effluent treatment plant soon after the government came to power in 2006.He said that the government had quietly closed all the files just before the state went to polls this year.
