Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu who led his party to a thumping victory in the Assembly elections is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh along with his ministers in a grand function on Sunday evening.

While the swearing-in of his Telangana counterpart was a small affair, TDP workers are making sure that no stone is unturned to welcome Naidu to the state's helm after a long gap.

After sweeping the Assembly polls in Andhra, an elated Naidu had said, "I am very happy and this is a moment we have been waiting for."

After a 10-year stint as the Opposition leader, the TDP supremo is finally making a comeback with the TDP-BJP alliance all set to form the government in the new Andhra Pradesh.

An opulent swearing-in ceremony is planned for Naidu and his ministers near Guntur where almost 5 lakh people are expected to throng the venue. Special trains have been arranged to manage the rush. Party workers are leaving no stone unturned to celebrate Chandrababu Naidu's return as the Chief Minister.

While YSCR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy will skip the oath taking ceremony, good wishes are pouring in from the neighbouring, newly formed Telangana.

"We wish Chandrabau Naidu good wishes and hope to see both the state prosper together," said TRS Minister KT Rama Rao.

Jagan Reddy, however, has accused Naidu of wasting state exchequer's money on the grand ceremony. "While Naidu is asking people to donate generously for building a new capital, he is wasting crores on this oath taking ceremony. Is this the way a CM should behave," asked the Opposition leader in Andhra Assembly.

Invitations have been sent out to Central ministers Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and Arun Jaitley and also to chief ministers Jayalalithaa, Naveen Patnaik, Raman Singh amongst others to witness the moment when Chandrababu Naidu will officially take charge as residual Andhra Pradesh's first Chief Minister.
