Mumbai: Cash Cab isn't a new cab service. It is yet another reality show on Bindaas which promises to help the audience make a quick buck.
Remember Uddham Singh and his famed Jat delivery? Munish Makhija returns with his Uddham Singh act intact, only this time he plays a cabbie for Cash Cab.
Cash cab promises to not just give you a ride to your destination but also to help you make a quick buck.
Makhija as TV host and actor also renders his typical rustic, Haryanvi dialogues with ultimatums thrown in for good measure.
So anyone, celebrity or commoner can hitch a ride. The event also saw Divya Dutta making an entry in her Welcome to Sajjanpur outfit.
"It's a joy ride and you are getting paid for it , you have good company and Makhija as Uddham Singh keeps you enthralled," said Divya.
If the passenger reaches the destination, the driver offers the passenger a choice of keeping the prize money and leaving the cab or of answering a final, more difficult question for double or nothing.
This is, essentially, a test of the risk aversion of the passenger.
The international format of Cash Cab is already a hit in the US and the UK.
It is an Emmy Award winning game show, devised by Adam Wood, which originated in the United Kingdom.
The format runs in such a way that passengers in a specially designated taxi cab can win money by correctly answering a series of trivia questions on the way to their destination.
The American version of Cash Cab has comedian Ben Bailey as host. The show has been licensed to television networks in numerous other countries as well.
The Indian adaptation could just ride away with the TRPs as well.
