This platform also enables the organisations to administer the test themselves at a time that suits them.Speaking at the launch, Rob Lynes, Director of the British Council in India said, “English has been the heart of the British Council’s cultural relations work since 1943. Our work in English creates opportunities for millions of people around the world through education, mobility and international engagement.”The hallmark of Aptis is its fexibility and adapatability for the customised needs of the organisations pointed out Mark Walker, director of exams at the British Council.Aptis can be used to assess the ability in all the four English skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Sarah Deverall, director of exams and Customer Services South Asia while explaining the features of Aptis said, “ Organisation need not test all the four  English skills.Aptis can be customised to test one or more of the specfic kills which is relevant to their needs.”The content of the Aptis can be adapted to suit a specfic domain, such as teaching, travel or tourism, as well as cutomised to suit specfic cultural contexts and variants of English.
