Marc said he doesn't use a razor because it causes a hereditary skin condition to aggravate.

London: A British teenager has reportedly been expelled from his school for refusing to shave off his moustache.

Marc Grey, 13, said he has been told by his physician not to use a razor regularly because it causes a hereditary skin condition to aggravate.

But he claims his school in Northumberland expelled him, saying that the moustache "breaches its policy on appearance", according to The Sun.

His 53-year-old father Peter said: "Marc should not have been expelled as he just followed his mum and dad's instructions."

The family has appealed, saying the boy has pseudofolliculitis - a rash caused by shaving from which his 15-year-old brother also suffers.

"Staff did their utmost to work with the student and his parents, but we were left with no option than to exclude him," the school principal said.
