Afghan presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah says two bombs struck his convoy as it was leaving a campaign event at a wedding hall in Kabul, wounding his security guards.

Afghan presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah says two bombs struck his convoy as it was leaving a campaign event at a wedding hall in Kabul, wounding his security guards.

An AP reporter and a police officer at the scene of the blast said several people were wounded. It was not immediately clear if anyone was killed in the attack.

Abdullah, who is the front-runner in Afghanistan's presidential election, spoke on private television shortly after the attack, and said he was unharmed.
