Itanagar: BJP workers in Arunachal Pradesh organised a mass condolence meet, cutting across party lines, to mourn the demise of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who died in Mumbai on Wednesday after battling for life for 12 days.
The condolence meeting started at 0930 hrs (IST) at the city's BJP hall and is expected to continue till evening, party sources said.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang expressed shock and grief over the death of the veteran BJP leader.
Expressing condolence on behalf of the people of his state and cabinet colleagues to Rekha Mahajan, Mahajan's widow, Apang said the untimely demise of a promising, dynamic and charismatic leader was a great loss not only to the BJP but also to the nation.
