BJP MLA Watches Dance Performance As Kids Write Exam in MP School

New Delhi: Students at a school in Madhya Pradesh’s Tikamgarh had a hard time writing their final exams as the institution was turned into a venue for a cultural event attended by BJP MLA Anita Nayak.

On the day of the exam, ‘a cultural programme’ and an ‘MLA cup’ tournament was organized in the school premises where women dancers could be seen performing on a popular Haryanvi number.

While students sat on the ground to write their exam, Nayak, along with some guests enjoyed the dance performance and cultural programme organised in the memory of a deceased local leader.

When News18 contacted senior BJP minister Hitesh Bajpai on the issue, he said that he is not aware of the issue and assured to probe the matter.

“If such an incident has occurred, we will definitely take stern action against the miscreants,” said Bajpai.

Demanding a case be filed against the local leader, MP Congress spokesperson K K Mishra said, “How can such a dance performance take place in school premises, especially when children are writing their exam? This shows BJP’s views on education. No one has even come out to speak on the issue because people fear for their lives.”

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a probe into the incident.

Last year, a video of a primary school in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district had gone viral where a similar dance performance was organised to celebrate the birthday of the Gram Pradhan’s son.
