New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to file its second chargesheet against former Rajasthan minister Mahepal Maderna in the Bhanwari Devi murder case on Wednesday. The case is also likely to come up for discussion in the Rajasthan Assembly as well.
On Tuesday, a special CBI court had extended the judicial custody of the 13 accused in the case till March 13.
The nurse went missing from her home near Jodhpur in September 2011 amid reports that she was blackmailing Maderna with a sleaze CD.
The CBI investigation into the case has unravelled a web of politics, sleaze and blackmail.
Apart from implicating Maderna, the chargesheet will also look at the role of another Congress politician Malkhan Singh who is an MLA. Malkhan reportedly introduced her to Maderna. Murder charges are likely to be framed against the two politicians.
The investigating agency is also likely to file charges of destruction of evidence against the gang of hit men who reportedly burnt Bhanwari's body in a pit and threw her remains into the Rajiv Gandhi canal.
