The police said arrest of the culprits would take time.

Bengaluru: Claiming to have cracked the murder case of a woman employee of Dell Corporation here, police on Thursday said arrest of the culprits would take time, as they have fled to different parts of the country.

Denying reports that the main accused in the case had been arrested, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said police had solved the case within 48 hours and once the accused were nabbed, the media would be briefed.

"Because of legal problem, we have to bring them by road, that is why it is taking time," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

29-year-old woman, Payal Surekha of Assam, a Technical Associate with Dell, was found murdered at her residence on December 17 when her husband Anand Narain Mishra was away in his native Cuttack in Orissa.

On the reported arrest, Bidari said even before evidence was collected and the person formally arrested "an officer had indulged in misconduct and disclosed something which is part of his imagination".

He warned of stern action against police personnel indulging in "speculation".

"After all the evidence is collected, the information studied and we report to the court, we will share all the information with the press," Bidari said.
