New Delhi: Just a few days after her much-talked about engagement to Abhishek Bachchan, actress Aishwarya Rai is in the news for a different reason.
Aishwarya, along with MPs Omar Abdullah, Jyotiraditya Scindia , Naveen Jindal, filmmaker Karan Johar and Prince Shivraj Singh of Jodhpur, is among 25 Indians who figure in this year's list of 250 Global Young Leaders by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum.
Chaired by Queen Raina of Jordan, the selection committee chooses leaders from various fields every year based on their professional accomplishments, their commitment to society and their potential to shape the world.
Also on the list are MP B G Pundlikrao, Chief Financial Officer of ICICI Bank Vishka Mulye, Vice President of Tata Sons Mukand Govind Rajan, Managing Director of Dr Reddy's Laboratories Satish Reddy, Vice President Infosys Technologies Subhash Dhar and President of the Parks Hotels India Priya Paul.
The present community of 416 Young Global Leaders represents 90 countries and includes co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, singer Daniela Mercury and Chief Executive Officer, Star Group, Michelle Guthrie among others.
