The body was taken to Kilimanoor and kept at the Thattathumala Government HSS for the public to pay their last respects.Arun was laid to rest at 10.30 a m on the premises of his house. Arun, who was attached to the 16th Cavalry Regiment, had shot himself with his service rifle in Samba district in J&K on Wednesday. The Army set up a Court of Inquiry after Defence Minister A K Antony ordered an investigation.The incident was also raised in Parliament but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that it should not be blown out of proportion.But Arun’s parents Viswamohanan Pillai and Anithakumari had alleged that their son had faced threats from his senior officers.According to them, he even faced a threat to his life. The family had sent a fax on Thursday morning to the Defence Minister seeking an investigation into Arun’s death.
