Apple to live stream October 23 event, iPad mini expected
The last time Apple live streamed its event was back in October 2010.

New Delhi: Apple, which has always avoided live-streaming their product launches on the web, is all set to take a different route this time. The company is going to live stream the October 23 event, where it is expected to unveil the smaller version of the iPad.

There is a dedicated channel for the event that says, "Watch a live video stream of the special event online or via Apple TV starting at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later."

According to a MacRumors report, a new "Apple Events" icon has appeared on the Apple TV, which also convinces us to believe that Apple is going to live stream the October 23 event. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. A click on the particular channel also shows a few other Apple press event videos, dating back to June 2011.

In the past, Apple has offered live video streams of its events, but has not done so in several years. The last time Apple live streamed its event was back in October 2010.
