Alangur Srinivas passes away

KOLAR:  Thousands of JD(S) workers and leaders from across the state participated in the funeral of former minister Alangur R Srinivas here on Friday, who passed away the same day.He is survived by his wife and a daughter. The body of Srinivas reached his native taluk Mulbagal around 3 pm. Thousands of people and party workers paid their tributes to their leader. The body was later taken to his house in Jodi village and then to Alangoor where the last rites were held.Former chief minister and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy stayed in the village for more than two and half hours to participate in the funeral. Former MP Narayananswamy, former minister K Srinivasa Gowda, district president and MLA Venkatashiva Reddy and others participated in the funeral.
