Till a few days back, Gandhi-nagar was abuzz with cine news that Ramya and Darshan will come together for Toogudeepa production 'Bulbul' to be directed by MD Sridhar. But now, news is that the Sandalwood queen has opted out of the project citing differences in remuneration.
According to the spokesperson of the actress, the makers of 'Bulbul' could not match up to Ramya’s cost. "Ramya is being paid around Rs 50 lakhs for her film with Kodi Ramakrishna. However, she was ready to come down to a certain extent but the makers of the film really slashed it to a very low figure, which was not quite feasible. So she turned down the offer," she said.
The fact that she was cast opposite challenging star Darshan did not give any reason for Ramya to rethink about her decision. The spokesperson said, "She was excited to work with Darshan. But apart from being a heroine of a film, there are many other aspects that matter, the remuneration being one among them. “
Dinakar, the producer confirmed the news. "Yes, certain conditions did not work out between us. So, she did not want to be part of 'Bulbul'. We were keen to bring back both Darshan and Ramya after 6 years. But, she had already given her dates to another film and certain decisions from her side were not agreeable to us. Now the search starts and this time it has to be quite fast as the time is running, " said Dinakar.
