A Superintendent of Police in Rajasthan was on Tuesday arrested by ACB sleuths for allegedly taking a bribe to change a chargesheet in favour of a client through a couple, DG ACB said.
SP-City (Kota) Satveer Singh took bribe through Nishar Khan and Fahreen Khan, who were allegedly indulged in changing files, chargesheets, and transferring posting cases.
A property dealer, Abdul Mateen, had filed a complaint with the ACB alleging that the SP had demanded bribe of Rs 2 lakh from him for changing the chargesheet in a case, the DG said.
Bhatt said Mateen had paid Rs 1 lakh to Khans earlier and handed over to them Rs 50,000 today. He was to pay the remaining amount after the completion of work.
The ACB sleuths recovered a number of official documents from the residence of Khans who run a restaurant in Kota, he said.
A case under relevant sections of Anti Corruption Act, and 120 B of IPC for conspiracy was lodged against the three accused, Bhatt said.
