New Delhi: BJP on Sunday tore through the AAP, accusing its chief Arvind Kejriwal of not fulfilling any of the promises made to the people and asked the electorate to not fritter away their votes on a party that has "no policy".
BJP president Amit Shah, addressing an election rally in Patel Nagar constituency for party candidate Krishna Tirath, asked the electorate to give full-majority to the saffron party.
"This Aam Aadmi Party is the most peculiar party in the world, they never do what they say. Kejriwal has not fulfilled any of the promises made...During the Lok Sabha elections, he had told people of Varanasi that even if did not win, he would serve people there.
"Eight months have passed since the general elections, he did not even once showed up in Kashi, and people of Varanasi are now looking for him here," Shah alleged. "Kejriwal in his 49-day government was exposed after partnering with Congress to form the government post 2013 elections. He resigned to become Prime Minister," the BJP leader said.
"He had promised to run the government for 5 years, did he keep the promise? He promised action on Sheila Dikshit in connection with the CWG scam, did he take any? He promised to have Lok Darbar, but he had to climb the roof in his first only," Shah claimed.
"This party has no policy, no grip on foreign policy or economic policy, how to control inflation...instead they create unrest," he alleged. The BJP leader said, "Don't therefore waste your votes on a party that had more than 350 of its candidates lose deposit in the Lok Sabha elections." Shah also took on Congress, saying, "In 10 years of UPA government and 15 years of Sheila Dikshit government, did they do anything on what they had promised...we only authorised the unauthorised colonies and now we will provide all facilities also."
He also mocked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and said, "He can't see such things happening in front of him as he is wearing his Italian pair of glasses."
